Presentation tittle: E-BUS powered by NTO Technology – Charging Opportunity for Optimized Urban Mobility
Abstract:
Transit systems are a key strategy to reduce the use of private cars and mitigate congestion episodes in major cities, however tradition diesel powered buses are responsible for the emission of a huge quantity of pollutants that contributed to the global warming problem (GHG) or worsened the health of the citizens in metropolitan areas. The implementation of electric buses will contribute to the reduction of the fossil fuel consumption, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and local air pollution, by improving energy efficiency. CBMM, TOSHIBA and VWCO joined hands to build the world first prototype of a Fast-Charging E-Bus powered by NTO technology in order to demonstrate the feasibility of applying “charging opportunity” which can significantly reduce the size of batteries, regulate the grid load, optimize the fleet size and ultimately reduce the Total Cost of Ownership for the system operator. This presentation will cover details about this project as well as highlight the excellent fit of NTO batteries for fast charging applications in mobility related sectors.
